Single ISPnano-ESD1 module |
|
The picture above shows a single ISPnano-ESD1 module module mounted on an ISPnano programmer.
|
|
Multiple ISPnano-ESD modules |
|
- The picture above shows how 3 x ISPnano-ESD1 modules can be daisy-chained on a programming panel.
- The 'ESD EARTH' wire from each module is connect to the next module in the chain.
- The 'ESD EARTH' wire from the final module is then connected to the main GROUND connection for the programming fixture.
- In the event of an ESD or over-voltage condition, the 'fault current' should then flow down the 'ESD EARTH' wire to ESD GROUND.

Main Features |
|
- Simple to fit, easily replaceable module which plugs into the 16-way 'Target ISP' connector on any ISPnano programmer.
- Modules can easily be replaced in case of damage.
- Scaleable protection system - the modules can be daisy-chained for multi-channel systems
- Helps to protect programmer I/O lines against Electro-static discharge (ESD) problems.
- Helps to protect programmer I/O lines against over-voltage conditions where the Target System applies > 5.2V to any signal line.
- Diverts the 'fault current' away to the 'ESD GROUND' by means of a separate EARTH wire
- All SPI, JTAG, I2C, PDI and TWI interface ports are protected.
- An in-line fuse in the 'EXT-VCC' line helps to protect the programmer from damage if an external Target Supply (with no current limit) is accidentally connected to one of the programmer I/O pins.

Programmer compatability |
|
This ISPnano-ESD1 module is compatible with the following programmers:
- ISPnano Series I
- ISPnano Series II
- ISPnano Series III
- ISPnano Series III ATE
|
|
Connecting to the programmer |
|
- The ISPnano-ESD1 module simply plugs into the 16-way IDC 'Target ISP' connector on any ISPnano programmer.
- The module reproduces the same 16-way IDC 'Target ISP' connector on the top of the module.
- No changes to the wiring of the programmer are required.
