The Atmel STK501 board is an expansion module designed to add 64-pin support to the Atmel® STK500 Development Board. The STK500 and STK501 expansion module extends support to all current AVR® devices.
The STK501 includes connectors, jumpers and hardware allowing full utilization of the features on the 64-pin AVR devices. A Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) socket allows easy use of TQFP packages for prototyping.

- Quality 64-pin 'Zero Insertion Force' (ZIF) Socket supports ATmega128 and ATmega103 devices in TQFP package without soldering (devices not included)
- Supports programming of Atmega128 device via SPI, JTAG (using ‘JTAG ICE’ or ‘Epsilon5’) and high-voltage parallel mode
- JTAG ICE compatible (JTAG port provided to interface to JTAG-ICE)
- TQFP footprint to allow emulator (ICE) adaptor to be soldered to the module
- Supports all new features of the ATmega128 including extra I/O ports, JTAG port and additional serial USART
- Adds external XRAM support to the STK500 board
- On-board 32kHz clock oscillator for easy implementation of Real Time Clock (RTC)
