The TwinPEEKs monitor program is a ROM Monitor utility which supports uploading of user program code to the on-chip EEPROM of Motorola HC12 microcontroller. The Monitor Program supplied is able to display and modify the memory contents of the Target Microcontroller and can also be used to commence execution of the user program in real-time.

The Monitor ocupies 2 Kb of EEPROM Code space on the Target Microcontroller leaving 2 Kb for user program code. The Monitor is pre-programmed into the EEPROM of all kits before shipping so the Monitor Program can communicate with the Monitor when you power the board up for the first time. This means that an additional BDM programmer is not required to get started with the HC12 kits. The Monitor Program is 'write protected' so that it cannot be unintentionally erased.

If you wish to use the entire 4 Kb of Code EEPROM memory, it is necessary to use an additional BDM Debugger / Programmer.
