Xeltek - Superpro9000U - 4 Gang Asynchronous Parallel Programming System

The Superpro 9000U is a high-speed 4-channel asynchronous Universal Parallel Programming System which supports over 26,252 devices from 100+ manufacturers including Memory, MCU and PLDs. Each channel features a dedicated Programming Module, 48-pin Universal Pin Driver Module and 48-pin DIL ZIF socket. This allows each channel to operate completely independently of the other channels yielding the fastest possible gang programming speeds.

The Superpro 9000U can either be used used in PC Controlled Mode or in Standalone Mode (no PC) making it an ideal choice for any medium to high volume programming applications. The Programming Projects are stored on a separate Compact FLASH Card for each programming channel.

The Superpro9000U features fast upload of data from the controlling PC to the programmer(s) by virtue of a high-speed USB link. Target Data Images can also be stored on Compact Flash Cards which are simply plugged into the programmer allowing it to work in Standalone Mode (i.e. without a PC).

4 x Independent Programming Channels

  • 4 x Independent Programming Modules incorporated into one Programming System.
  • Each Programming Module features completely separate control / driver electronics.
  • Each Programming Module is capable of running asynchronously.
  • Even the algorithm engines are independent to each other supporting both tradional synchronous and fully asynchronous production programming.
  • The asynchronous mode provides a more efficient way for production programming as each module starts programming as soon as the chip is detected in the socket.

Device Support - Supports 26,252+ devices from 100+ manufacturers

  • Supports 26,200+ devices from 100+ manufacturers including Memory, MCU, and PLD.
  • More devices are added and released every week
  • Priority update for customer requested devices
  • Free software updates via the Internet

ZIF Socket - Supports up to 48-pin DIL Devices

The SuperPro 9000U programmer features a 48-pin DIL (Dual-In-Line) ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket with 48 independent pin-drivers. The 48-pin ZIF socket allows the programmer to support many more devices than the more traditional 40-pin programmers on the market including high-density FLASH and EEPROM Memory devices which are common in 48-pin TSOP packages. Many of the more recent high-integration microcontrollers also require more than 40pins for programming. A suitable Package Adaptor is required to convert the package of the target chip to the DIL equivalent.

Stand Alone Operation

The Superpro 9000U Programmer can be used in Standalone Mode (i.e. without a PC) making it ideal for medium to high-volume production programming. The Project Files to be programmed are simply copied to a Compact Flash (CF) memory card and then this card is inserted into the programmer CF card slot. Each Programming Channel requires its own CF Card.

In Standalone Mode, the programmer keyboard is used to select the relevant 'Programming Project' and then then each programming channel operates from the information stored on the CF card.

Supports Gang Programming Mode
  • Programmer can be used in 'Gang Mode' to give very high device programming throughputs
  • A Compact Flash Card is used to transfer the data to each programming channel.

Designed for multi-applications, three modes of operation are supported
  • Standard PC hosted operation for R&D and Engineering.
  • Stand-alone operation for manufacturing or service.  Built-in keyboard and LCD display provides for local operation.
  • Terminal mode to operate via an external instrument such as IC handler, terminal, or controller.
  • *** Note: Stand-alone or Terminal mode operation requires an optional Compact Flash card to be inserted for operation.

Powerful Windows based control software

  • Microsoft Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP compatibility
  • Project function simplifies processes such as device selection, file loading, device configuration setting, program option, and batch file setting into one touch step.
  • History of device selection and file loading simplifies user operation.
  • Batch command combines device operations like program, verify, security into a single command at any sequence.
  • Auto start batch command begins to program a chip automatically as soon as the chip is inserted.
  • Serial numbers can be generated and programmed onto a chip.

Programmer Rear Panel View

The Rear Panel connectors are as follows:

  • DC Power Connector
  • USB Connector
  • Earth Connector
  • 4 x Compact FLASH Card Slots

Advanced hardware features
  • Advanced hardware design minimizes ground bounce noise enabling programming of low voltage, down to 1.5 volts, devices reliably.
  • Only IC manufacturer approved programming algorithms are used for high reliability.
  • ± 5% and ± 10% Vcc verification enhances programming reliability.

Compact Flash - Project Storage

  • The 9000U features 4 x Compact FLASH (CF) slots on the rear panel, one for each programming channel.
  • Each channel can operate independently using the data stored on the CF card.

Pin continuity and incorrect chip insertion checks
  • The programmer performs an automatic Pin Continuity Test.  The programmer also carries out an incorrect chip insertion Test.
  • These tests help to prevent damage to Target Chips.

Over-current and over-voltage protection
  • Over-current and over-voltage protection for safety of the chip and programmer hardware.
