Main Features |
|
- CANUSB module plugs directly into a standard USB port (‘A’ plug type)
- Provides a standard DB9 male output to CAN systems according to CiA (CAN in Automation) DS102-1 recommendations.
- Up to 1Mbps CAN Bitrate
- Supports CAN2.0A (11 Bit IDs) und CAN2.0B (29 Bit IDs)
- Time Stamp Option (ms) for incoming frames
- Self powered from USB.
- Consumes max 100mA, but normally not more than 60mA (this depends on BUS load and eventual CAN cable errors etc.).
- Use your own RS232 LIB/drivers (in e.g. Visual Basic, Deplhi, C++ etc.) together with the free Virtual COM port driver or use the free Direct driver DLL.
- Works on Windows and Linux platforms.
- Easy to migrate from CAN232 to CANUSB with some small software changes.
- Free Windows Threaded CANUSB API DLL or use the ActiveX controller, write applications in a snap.

Sample Programs and Drivers |
|
- Lawicel have developed their own DLL and ActiveX control which in turn "talk" with the D2XX DLL from FTDI.
- This threaded DLL & ActiveX control includes Open, Close, Read, Write & Status functions and will make it quick and easy for customers to make their own applications without understanding how to parse commands and getting into how the D2XX driver works.
- DLL & ActiveX control is availible now.
- Tests with VB6 using this DLL shows that the CANUSB is really fast and can receive 5000+ frames per second without loosing any frames.

CANUSB-V2 Internal View |
|

Looking inside the CANUSB-V2, you find a dense 4-layer printed circuit boards with parts on both sides of the PCB. The CANUSB-V2 is firmware upgradable through the USB interface, so customers easily can update firware when we release a new improved software or new functions in the software. CANUSB-V2 is also CE ceritified and RoHS compliant, which many other similar products are not.

Upgrade to 'CAN Monitor Pro' (optional upgrade) |
|

CANMON/PRO is a software utility which supports sending / receiving of CAN message frames using a simple graphical GUI. The utility only works in conjunction with the Lawicel CANUSB adaptor.
This is a chargeable upgrade to the Lawicel CANUSB adaptor - see 'Product Upgrades' section.

CANUSB-V2 - Demo Delphi Application |
|

- CANUSB DLL sample using the D2XX driver - see CANUSB DLL driver package.
- See CANUSB website for a ready to use Software using CANUSB DLL (no source code). CANUSB VCP Samples.
- See www.can232.com for Delphi samples, these work nice with VCP drivers (VCP is not recommended for higher speed, this is only for compability with CAN232 applications).
