The difference between the Card.S12D64, Card.S12DP512 and CARD.S12XDP5 Controller Modules is simply the microcontroller which is fitted to the card. Each microcontroller has different amounts of on-board FLASH / EEPROM and also has different peripherals.
CardS12.D64 - Freescale MC9S12D64 microcontroller - Features: 64 KB Flash, 1 KB EEPROM, 4 KB RAM, 1 x SPI, 2x SCI
CardS12.DP512 - Freescale MC9S12DP512 microcontroller - Features: 512KB Flash, 4KB EEPROM, 14KB RAM, 3x SPI, 5x CAN
CardS12.XDP512 - Freescale MC9S12XDP512 microcontroller - Features: up to 40 MHz bus clock, 32 KB RAM, Extended S12X instruction set, XGATE peripheral coprocessor

The CardS12 Modules are shipped with a special version of the TwinPEEKS HCS12 Monitor Program. This allows easy programming and erasing of the microcontroller's internal Flash Memory. It is possible to quickly download code without the need of additional tools - no difference between RAM, EEPROM or Flash!
The Monitor Program resides in the write-protected Boot Block area of the Flash Memory and can therefore not be erased unintentionally. The Monitor Program on each CardS12 is ready-to-use - you do not have to prepare anything. Just switch it on and type in commands! The TwinPEEKs Source Code is also available if required (seperate chargeable option).
