Xeltek - SuperPro Universal Programmer Range

Xeltek is a leading manufacturer of low-cost high-speed Device Programmers. Their comprehensive range of Device Programmers caters for development, field and pre-production as well as high-volume production programming requirements. The SuperPro 280U, 580U and 3000U feature USB connectivity to the PC ensuring the fastest possible data throughput. Also all programmers from the SuperPro 280U upwards feature a 48-pin Zero Insertion force (ZIF) socket as standard allowing them to support the majority of newer devices which have more than 40 pins.

The SuperPro 3000U programmer supports upwards of 42,000 devices making it one one of the best supported programmers on the market today. All device support updates are FREE for life and are available for download from the Xeltek website.

Pin Drivers / ZIF Socket

The SuperPro programmers all feature a 48-pin DIL (Dual-In-Line) ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket with 48 independent pin-drivers with the exception of the SuperProZ programmer which has a 40-pin ZIF socket. The 48-pin ZIF socket allows the SuperPro programmers to support many more devices than the more traditional 40-pin programmers on the market including high-density FLASH and EEPROM Memory devices which are common in 48-pin TSOP packages. Many of the more recent high-integration microcontrollers also require more than 40pins for programming. A suitable Package Adaptor is required to convert the package of the target chip to the DIL equivalent.

The SuperPro 3000U programmer can be upgraded via a hardware plug-in module (PEP Module) to support up to 100 independent pin-drivers. This allows the 3000U programmer to support programing of very high pin-count devices such as CPLDs, FPGAs and high-end microcontrollers.

USB / Parallel Connection to PC

All SuperPro programmers feature a high-speed USB connection to the PC with the exception of the SuperProZ programmer which has a 'Parallel Port' connection.

Device Support / Update Policy

The SuperPro range of programmer support a vast aray of different programmable devices including PALS, GALS, CPLDs, FPGAs, microcontrollers, FLASH Memories and EEPROM Memories.

At the top end of the range, the 3000U programmer supports over 17,000+ devices. The number of devices supported reduces as you go go down the programmer range. The SuperProZ programmer is an entry-level programmer with good support for the popular microcontroller families and FLASH and EEPROM devices, but this device support is fixed and not updated on a regular basis like the other programmers.

Xeltek update the device support of the SuperPro family (with the exception of the SuperProZ) on a regular basis. These updates are available to download from the Xeltek website FREE of Charge
